Consent Discipline:

IN RE VELEKA ESKINDE (New Orleans), 2021-B-00643 (8/6/21): The Court suspended the respondent for one year and one day, with all but sixty days deferred, for mismanaging her client trust account.

IN RE CHARLES KIRKLAND MIDDLETON (Lafayette), 2021-B-00777 (8/6/21): The Court suspended the respondent for one year and one day, fully deferred, for failing to refund an unearned fee and mismanaging his client trust account, resulting in commingling and conversion.

IN RE ROBERT A. PEARSON (New Orleans), 2021-B-00632 (8/6/21): The Court suspended the respondent for ninety days, fully deferred, for engaging in a consensual sexual relationship with a client.

2021-2022 Annual Requirements

If you have not yet updated your Trust Account Disclosure and Overdraft Notification Authorization Form as required under La. Sup. Ct. Rule XIX, Sec. 8, please do so now via the LADB Trust Account website.  This process takes only a few minutes.  If you fail to submit your Trust Account Disclosure and Overdraft Notification Authorization Form by the close of business on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, you will incur a $25.00 delinquency penalty.

To avoid being certified as ineligible, submit your trust account information no later than the close of business on Thursday, September 23, 2021. If you are certified as ineligible, a reinstatement fee of $25.00, in addition to the delinquency penalty, will apply.

No Trust Account? Emeritus status? Rule XIX still requires that you file your Trust Account Disclosure Form. Please follow the instructions provided on the LADB Trust Account website.
