Ju​ly 1 Deadline for LADB Assessment, Bar Dues & Trust Account Registration

The annual LADB Assessment is due and payable Ju​ly 1​st. As always, the assessment must be paid with your LSBA membership dues at the bar association's website or by mailing the proper forms to the bar association.
                                                                          

LADB Assessment:
   Admitted 3 years or less -  $170.00
   Admitted more than 3 years - $235.00

LSBA Bar Dues:
   Admitted 3 years or less -  $80.00
   Admitted more than 3 years - $200.00

* No disciplinary assessment is collected for the fiscal year in which an attorney is first admitted to practice. *

Lawyers are also required to complete their annual trust account registration at LADB's website, even if there has been no change in your information from the previous year.

Pro Hac Vice Fee Change

Effective Ju​ly 1, 20​15, the pro hac vice application fee will be $450. Click here to read the complete and updated rule.

Recent Decisions

IN RE JEFFERSON, 2015-B-0508 (5/1/15)
The Court permanently disbarred the respondent based upon his conviction of a serious crime.  The conviction was a result of the respondent soliciting bribes in exchange for his official acts as a member of the United States House of Representatives.

IN RE BROWN-MITCHELL, 2014-B-2544 (5/5/15)
The Court disbarred the respondent for numerous acts of misconduct, which included converting third-party funds, engaging in conflicts of interest, and engaging in deceitful conduct.  The Court found the respondent’s conduct was knowing and intentional, and caused significant harm.
