IN RE MICHAEL D. COX (Bossier City), 2021-B-1487 (5/13/22): The Court disbarred the respondent for filing meritless and frivolous pleadings on numerous occasions, pleading guilty to the felony charge of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, being convicted of three counts of unlawful exercise of notarial powers, pleading guilty to attempted felony theft, and making statements about a judge that were frivolous and questioned the judge’s integrity.
IN RE ROLANDO ROBERTO URBINA (Zachary), 2022-B-0394 (5/10/22): The Court suspended the respondent for one year and one day for mishandling his client trust account and failing to cooperate with the ODC in its investigation. The factual allegations in the formal charges were deemed admitted pursuant to Louisiana Supreme Court Rule XIX, §11(E)(3).
IN RE SEDRIC E. BANKS (Monroe), 2022-B-0073 (5/13/22): The Court suspended the respondent for one year, with six months deferred, for failing to withdraw from the representation after his client terminated his services, filing meritless claims, and engaging in a conflict of interest.
IN RE MICHELLE ANDRICA CHARLES (Belle Chasse), 2021-B-1853 (5/13/22): The Court suspended the respondent for nine months, with six months deferred, for failing to file her state income tax return for 2015, which resulted in her disqualification as a judicial candidate, neglecting a legal matter, failing to communicate with a client, and engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.

IN RE ELIZABETH A. SPURGEON (Leesville), 2022-B-0493 (5/3/22): The Court suspended the respondent for two years, fully deferred, based upon her arrest for drug and alcohol-related criminal offenses.
