Deadlines Extended: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, deadlines for filings due to the Board and its Hearing Committees have been extended to May 4, 2020.

Registration Statement, Disciplinary Assessment and Bar Dues: The Louisiana Supreme Court and the LSBA have extended the deadline for payment of LSBA dues and the LADB assessment, and the filing of the Attorney Registration Statement from July 1 to August 1, 2020.

Emeritus Status: On April 9, 2020, the Louisiana Supreme Court amended La. S. Ct. Rule XVIII to create an emeritus status for lawyers.

Recent Rules and Decisions
IN RE CALEB KENT AGUILLARD (Eunice), 2017-B-02155 (4/3/2020): The Court suspended the respondent for one year and one day, fully deferred, for misusing his client trust account, neglecting his clients’ legal matters, failing to communicate with his clients, and failing to refund approximately $15,000 in unearned attorney’s fees to his clients.
IN RE GEORGE A. FLOURNOY (Alexandria), 2019-B-01479 (4/3/2020): The Court suspended the respondent for one year, with all but thirty days deferred, for directing his secretary to improperly notarize a document and for disobeying the orders of a trial court.
