Sanctions Issued by the Board or Court: 12 Admonitions, 10 Public Reprimands, 37 Suspensions, 10 Disbarments, 7 Permanent Disbarments, 6 Permanent Resignations in Lieu of Discipline

Recent Decisions From the Louisiana Supreme Court

Consent Discipline:

IN RE RONALD J. SHOLES (New Orleans), 2018-B-0361, (4/2/18)
The Court publicly reprimanded the respondent for failing to adequately supervise a non-lawyer assistant.

IN RE BRYAN F. GILL, JR. (Lake Charles), 2018-B-0099, (4/6/18)
The Court suspended the respondent for eighteen months, with nine months deferred, for commingling personal funds with client funds in his trust account and converting client and third-party funds.

 

2018-2019 Annual Requirements

Dues, assessments, and trust account registration for Louisiana attorneys must be submitted by July 1st. In May, attorneys should receive a postcard from the Bar Association with detailed instructions. Please make sure that your contact information on file with the LSBA (LSBA.org), including your email address, is up-to-date.
